Hey guys, I'm currently re-building my engine and have been considering supercharging my truck in the future. What are the engine upgrades that you would recommend I do to make my engine as robust and reliable as it could be (within reason, I'm on a budget but know I want to keep the truck forever, so I'm comfortable spending a bit extra). I figured I would do these upgrades while I already have it all taken apart, then in a few years when I do the supercharger I'll already be ready for it! The truck is a 95 with the 3.4 engine, looking to run 5-7 pounds of boost. Thanks all!

You honestly don't need to do anything to it. You could add the head studs as stated, but its not needed for low boost. Just rebuild the engine properly and use quality Toyota parts.

Forged pistons and rods are a pretty penny and a 3 month wait time for pistons.

The most important part is fuel/timing management. Put your money here. This will make your engine live much longer and make more power too.

You will need the Ecu out of a 1997 year truck with the same equipment as your truck. Example, V6/Auto/4x4, you need to find that exact version from a 97. You can't boost on the 95-96 Ecu, computer just goes cross eyed and pulls all the timing.

Thank you very much for the info, I'll look into that!
