Took this a couple of years ago in Moab, well worth it.
Maybe look for something similar in your area.

uhhh. That looks like a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) class not a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) class.

theres a real big difference in the 2. you can get a WFA in a weekend, but most WFR classes are at least a week long. First aid is pretty much hold a bandaid on them until someone with more knowledge/experience comes. whereas a WFR is like a crash course nurse for wilderness

WFA is very valuable though and I would recommend it to anyone doing outdoors stuff

Was gonna say that. WFR>WFA in a big way.

Although I’ve seen some WFA courses that go beyond what others cover. So it can kinda depend on the host company/instructor/student knowledge or interest level.

In the end, any knowledge is better than no knowledge. Still wish I never let my WFR cert. expire. Once I left the field I let my recerts slide. Now it’s too big of a time/financial investment to reup just for personal use.

Three punctures in two days. I thought I’d get away with exo+, nope. Both tires that are exo+ got punctured, double down was fine as always, even the exo w/Cush Core were fine.
Done with that shit. HATE flats. I’ve run double down for a few years and haven’t had a flat the whole time, tires get replaced when worn.
Every single exo+ tire I’ve had has punctured early. :annoyed:

i love the ones with the magclick or whatever it's called. have been great.

Yeah, i've looked at wfr vs wfa. some knowledge is better than no knowledge. if you can, get the wfr but that's quite an investment. but maybe it'll come in handy at the least.

@dwphoto NOLS does have a wilderness first aid/CPR course that was good. Obviously a lot of it will come down to the instructor, but I learned a lot and appreciated that the first aid principles were focused on “how to respond in the backcountry”

This is my log from Strava's gear settings:

01/24/20 - New Chain - Stripped of factory grease and waxed
    03/11/20 - 532.59 miles - deep cleaned and waxed
    04/10/20 - 963.91 miles - deep cleaned and waxed, charged Di2
05/22/20 - 2585.72 miles deep cleaned and waxed - <.25 on CC2 (very loud from wax loss; reduce mileage between waxings)
    07/07/20 - 3099.56 miles - Charged Di2
    10/29/20 - 3,986.3 miles - deep cleaned and waxed - .25 on CC2, Charged Di2
    04/07/21 - 4,866 miles - Deep clean and waxed, .25 on CC2, charged Di2
    06/20/21 - 5823.2 miles - Deep cleaned and waxed
    08/15/21 - 6582.3 miles - Deep cleaned and waxed, .25 on CC2, charged Di2

It's due again, so I'll clean and wax this Sunday at 7700 miles and I'll most likely retire it at the end of this year, regardless of mileage/wear.

Correct, no lube necessary between waxings.

So, I've heard of Alchemy back when looking for American made bikes, please know they no longer make the carbon frames in America, but were one of the last to move overseas.. Anyways, this is pretty sweet setup. For cost of shock, fork, and linkage you have a whole new bike. Given I know GG does this as well, but this definitely is a better looking bike.

It's DTC brand, it's cheaper than say SC, Yeti, and most other dealer oriented brands, however it's still much higher than say YT.
Honestly YT seems like the bike you buy for components and then just sale the frame. The retail cost of all components on their bikes cost more than the sale price of the complete unit.

    Plenty of them.
    120, 135, and 150

The 150 has the least stock, but you can still get one.

i just realized you were probably referring to YT.. my bad.

Also, I've been hanging out on MTBR, seems to be the best forum for MTB. Pinkbike I think has largest member base, but their forum is far too outdated.
Anyways, MTBR was talking about some companies not being able to source parts from suppliers so they are paying retail from other online vendors, that's another reason prices have went up is the frame manufactures aren't getting stuff at a discount at all.

MTBR is the better resource for MTB info/beta in general vs PB.
I agree that the PB forum is outdated, but it also seems the overall member base and content is overwhelming bro focused. If you aren’t riding enduro or DH you don’t even MTB bro, seems to be the mentality.

I do look at Pinkbikes XC articles as well, mainly just highlight videos and photos. The "bros" don't really bother going to those articles so I assume there's mutual respect between them.

Also, awesome thing about MTBR is, and I'm sure they have admins, but the talks there aren't really held back from worldly issues, but it's carried out respectfully.
