Thanks for welcoming us to the Tacoma community! To introduce ourselves, we are MillerCAT, manufacturers of catalytic converter theft-deterrent protection devices called the Cat Shield™ (www.catshield.com)

We're currently in the process of prototyping a Cat Shield for the third generation 2016-2022 Tacoma 2.7L and wanted to ask if anyone would be interested in helping us build our prototype. We'll need to borrow your Gen 3 Tacoma 2.7L for a couple days but in return, your vehicle will be outfitted with our brand new Cat Shield (and free of charge)! Hello, I’m interested in asking about this. It seems to me that there is already a shield in the new 2022 Trd sport 4x2 model. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Will these cat shields be simple drill free installs for taco owners to install themselves ?

I would like to get one, but frankly its too expensive.

 

$290 is too expensive? My comprehensive deductible is $500, I think this thing might be worth a look. Especially with all of the drugger methroaches that live around here.

@MillerCATCorp debating between stainless or aluminum. Can you briefly list pros/cons? I assume aluminum is easier to cut through, but it weighs less so that's a plus in the time of $6.50 gas. Stainless harder to cut through but weighs more. What is the weight difference?

What are you looking at? The prices for the 2.7L are $430 for either the 2WD or the 4WD. This is a Tacoma 2.7L thread.

LOL thats a bold statement. i spent 25k otd for my 2018 4 banger and have no regrets what so ever.

 

The weight difference is 6 pounds. Aluminum - 12lb vs 304 Stainless Steel - 18 lb.
