New and First Time Tacoma Owner

Hi all. Former Ford Ranger man here, but gave up on the Ford Ranger because they wouldn’t bring back the V6. So here I am and couldn’t be happier. I guess everything does happen for a reason.

Ordered a 2021 Army Green Tacoma TRD Sport with the black out package and a few other extras back in December, it was supposed to be here in March, but got delayed due to semiconductors and seat foam availability. Finally got it in April. I'm 58 and this is the first vehicle I have ever ordered direct from the manufacturer. In fact, it's the first brand new car I have ever personally owned.

Just put a Retrax Tonneau cover on tonight. Pretty easy DIY project I would say.

Welcome. I still have a modded 98 Ranger which was my 1st new vehicle. Dont know much about new Ranger reviews but I think you'll like the Tacoma.

 

yea. That was important to me. I just like the look that extra foot gives. I’m very pleased that I did that.

The only other thing I wish I would have done was to delete the hood scoop. Many like it, but I wish I would have thought about it - it makes it harder for me to judge distance to the vehicle in front of me when I’m parking, but I’m figuring it out.

Yea.. I was looking at the Ford Ranger Lariat. No V6. Then my son spied the 2020 TRD Pro in Army Green last year and told me to get one of those. I really liked the color but the price was steep. Then I saw they were offering Army Green in the 2021 TRD Off Road and Sport, so I pulled the trigger. I'm pretty happy with it.

 

I really like the Army Green and would’ve considered it if it was available in 2019. Enjoy the truck!

 

Price may be steep but man these trucks really hold their value! They gave me $17,500 for my totaled ‘03 this year. Never would have thought I’d get that much!

There are a coupe threads about trading hoods.... scoop for no scoop. You've got a hot commodity there!

 

It came from the factory with those sheet white TRD emblems on the back quarter panels. I told the dealer - black out package ordered and you send me a truck with these sheet white labels??? WTF?? They agreed and changed them to the black and red. Looks a lot better I must say!!

Wow... Compare that to my Ford Ranger that I sold to WeBuyAnyCar.com. It was a 2003 also. Had 212,000 miles. Had a few extras, but nothing major - pretty much stock with the 4.0 V6. They gave me $3450 for that and it had never been wrecked!! LOL... I'd say the Tacomas hold their value for sure!!!!
