Trying to sign up for entune app after entering my vin the app tells me to double check my vin and confirm my vehicle is entune capable, but my head unit is telling me i need to download entune. What gives? And yes i searched a bunch and sent a message to someone else who mentioned something similar.

Did you just get your truck? Mine did the same thing when I first got it. Then I tried again a few weeks later and it worked fine. I think there's something in Toyota's system that has to be triggered that the truck is sold and that takes a few days/weeks to happen.

I got my truck a couple weeks ago. Same problem. When I scan the VIN with the Toyota Entune app on my phone it says my vehicle can't be added.

I got my 2021 back in November (2020) and the app still doesn't recognize my VIN

I don't think that the app works with the 2020+ trucks since the head units have Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

Thanks for the reply. I've been tiring to get google maps, Pandora etc. to load through android auto with no luck,
I can get Pandora, phone etc. to connect through Bluetooth for sound only but no android auto on the screen.
I see that I have Entune Audio Plus and not Premium. maybe that's the problem.
    and idea?

I don’t remember where it’s at in settings, but you can update the Entune app suite. I bet that would probably do the trick.

I have used the Android Auto to display Waze on the head unit, but it takes over the whole screen. Just connect you phone the USB port and push the map button on the head unit. Don't really like that you have to have the phone connected to the USB port.

I do the same with Google Maps and use Android Auto to play music I have stored on my phone. Are there any additional Engine apps out there that are worth the effort to get this figured out?

    yup, you're right.
An FDF entry is created when the truck/vehicle is completed at the Factory and contains useful information such as VIN, color, model, etc. The existence of the FDF should allow the entune headhunit to function in some limited capacity or on a trial basis. An RDR is the record sent when the vehicle is sold. The Entune service (upon receipt of the RDR) will note that the VIN is enabled for a certain level of capability and will start 'working' fully. The RDR process at toyota feels pretty archaic so you can see a decent delay between driving off the lot and when entune becomes fully functional. I think I've seen a week or two before.

entune isn't used anymore. it's just the toyota app. Delete Entune.

Yup, I emailed Toyota to ask about the problem and received the same info about discontinuing Entune App Suite. Here are the provided instructions to connect the apps to the head unit using the standard Toyota App. I'm not sure using Apps through the head unit is worth the headache so I haven't taken the time to try this.

"After signing in, scroll down on the Toyota App dashboard until you see the Connect Your Accounts card. Then tap "Connect Now".

    711864b21ca54360944dd40aff7a931d_f2f8e4187d7b09769ea6127691aa2e20700d4f4a.jpg

Tap “Allow” to permit Toyota App to access the devices location.

Read through the App Suite Terms and Conditions. If you agree tap “Accept.” Once on the App Suite Menu, if you have login credentials for any of the Apps listed and would like to link your account(s) to the Toyota App.

    1. Tap either iHeartRadio, LiveXLive, or NPROne.
    2. Then tap "Sign In."
    3. Now enter your account information associated with the app you have selected. Account is now "linked."

Next, make sure you have paired your phone to the vehicle's Audio Multimedia system via Bluetooth.® Now select "Apps" from the Menu or on the face plate of the Audio Multimedia system."

None of that pops up for me under the connected services. It shows Connect Now but displays nothing then shows me how to connect to Bluetooth which i already have done. Worst part as I’ve seen with other posts is for my 21 RAV4 xle premium and I keep getting the Entune error on my head unit. So annoying and nobody seems to know how to fix. I’ve tried resetting and reinstalling. I don’t even use the app because when I go to “sign up” it tells me Error and to use the Toyota App. Toyota app doesn’t help at all with multimedia. Also no maps work unless I’m plugged in via usb. I’m connected to Bluetooth and can do my Apple CarPlay all fine but the error is so annoying! I’ve reset my entire head unit several times too and still no luck. Help
