I forgot to call the mechanic today & tell him which shocks I want for the 1st gen Tacoma. It's going to be my daily for awhile.
I'm thinking Bilstein 4600, thinking 5100's are overkill for the 1x I take if off road every 3 years or so.

Any thoughts on the 4600 choice for a daily runabout? Thanks.

 

had 5100's on my first gen liked them alot, I enjoy a stiffer drive though.

Think I'll be picking up my TV today.
Tried yesterday and Thursday, it was cloudy but as soon as I got home to change from work, it started raining

Way cool. They do a great job with the show there.

 

Shox.com says he can have all 4 4600's to me by next Monday or even by Friday if everything goes perfectly. Will wait & see. far better than mid november.

Going up to the Big E with the fam.

Anyone know what the best exit is, to miss all the traffic?

 

Unfortunately, You'll hit traffic at this time of day.
I always went early when they opened up in the morning.

I *Always* went up the back way.
91 to 20 like you're going to Bradley and take 75 all the way up.

 

I went yesterday..just follow GPS best suggested. Was only like 10 minutes tops on each end to get really moving..I think 90 went to 91 but don't quote me.

I don't know if this is late to give directions to the Big E but here goes.

This is from south if Hartford heading north.

91 North to exit 42 (is Rt 159 north) right exit, bottom of ramp go left .

Follow Rt. 159 north into Mass. 10/15 miles.

Continue on Rt. 159 toward Agawam you will pass Six Flags amusement park on the right continue north on Rt 159 until you intersect Rt. 147 go right . the Big is on the right.

Taking this route you will be on the west side of the Connecticut river with believe it or not less fighting traffic, going to Springfield Ma. fighting the traffic and then grossing lanes of traffic etc. IS A MESS.

Coming up on Rt.159 you will/ should have a better chance of finding parking / shuttle bus etc.

If you did go today pass these directions on to someone else.

Turns out, there actually wasn't much traffic at all trying to get there. Usually it is super backed up trying to cross the bridge, but there was no traffic at all.

The only traffic was trying to turn into the road to get to the gate 9 parking lot. But even that we got around by going up the road a bit, and then turning around and coming in from the other direction.

All in all, not a bad day at all. Kids had fun, friends had fun, heck, even my parents went along for the ride and fun.
