New Tailgate Backup Camera- Need Help!

I recently bought a new tailgate for my 2017 tacoma, But the wiring is different from my truck. It has no electronic lock for the key fob which is fine, but the plug from the new tailgate does not match the one i have now. I dont know the terminology, but the stock plug has 4 wires while the new tailgate connector has 5, as seen in the picture. I tried wiring just the 4 together and leaving the 5th out, but the backup camera still does not work. any ideas?

 

Maybe @caribe makaira has beta on a diagram for ya. What year / trim did the plug come from?

 

Did you cut the connector off of the "new" tailgate or did the guy that stole it just cut the wiring?

 

Mine is a 2017 trd sport , and i know the tailgate came from another trd sport but i’m not sure what year. it does not have electronic tailgate locking though if that helps narrow it down

 

Camera wiring only shows 4 wires. No green. Is this an aftermarket camera?

Edit : I just looked up part numbers for factory cameras. There are 2 different part numbers, one for before 11-2017 and one for after 11-2017. This could be the difference. My harness diagram showes earlier models so not sure if there was a change for later models.

Since you have some folded over taped end there. You're gonna have to open the panel to take a look inside the connector to the camera to be certain of the wires.

 

I was going to ask how much a dealer charges, but that should probably be "stealer" instead.

 

I know it’s been forever..this is the only thread I could find that is the same situation I’m facing. Did you ever get this figured out?
From another post, I think the green on 2020+ camera is a CGND..which is apparently the blue wire on earlier 4-wire connector. What that leaves leftover (from 5-wire camera) is a blue wire..
