Hi, I just installed Baja designs squadron SAE on my 2017 Tacoma and the fog lights worked with the ignition off until I tried to turn the truck on and now the engine won’t start. I unhooked the fog lights and had my buddy jump my truck and it started right back up again. I checked all the wiring and it was all correct so I plugged the fog lights back in and had the same problem but now the truck won’t start at all even with the oem fog lights back in. I checked all the fuses and can’t find anything wrong. Need help, thank you..

Yes I disconnected the battery

 

How old is the battery? Still original?

 

I purchased the truck last year and it has a 4/2020 Costco battery

 

It might sound obvious, but did you make sure you secured the battery terminals since you disconnected the battery? Has happened to me before Lmao

Wow I have no idea what’s going on. I think the rest of the guys’ suggestions make sense. Never heard of that happening. Sorry, OP!

 

If your friend is still around I would switch batteries with his to see if your battery is the issue. I know you said you recently purchased your battery at Costco, but you never know could have gotten a bad batch. If not take your battery to your nearest auto zone to have them test it to rule out the battery.

 

The lights in the dash turn on and everything, the engine just won’t start now

 

Do you have a key or is it push button

 

The terminal ended up being just dirty enough to stop it from starting…
