Anyone make a kit where you can remove the plastic portion of the scoop, and fit in a blank off piece which blends in w/the hood?

That Plastic Portion of the Scoop sticks up too high for me. Then there's the fact that it is strictly cosmetic, and not functional, is kind of stupid. It also adds to the weight of an already heavy hood as well.

I'm not interested in exchanging hoods, especially due to the color matching problem, but also too, there's the issue of removing the hood, due to its weight, and then lining up, and adjusting the gaps evenly around it.
I was hoping that someone made a blended in insert, allowing for a smooth contour.
I suppose another option would be to install some LED Offroad Light(s) in its place too.

I done it before and it’s not as hard as you think. The hood isn’t heavy at all. Best if you have 3 people (you, the other truck owner, and one more person). The hood will auto align itself. You might need to adjust the height by loosen or tighten the rubber stand on both side in front and that’s super easy to do. The only hard part is finding someone who has the same color that’s close by to you.

^^ This. From what I understand it's basically 4 bolts and the windshield washer lines. You just need a couple of other guys. Also, most people who want to swap seem to want to go in the other direction, so you may even be able to get a flat hood plus a few bucks for your Sport hood. Under the "There's no problem you can't fix if you throw enough money at it" category, you could always go to a body shop and ask them for an estimate to provide and color match a new flat hood. No swap or color worries, but I'm sure you'd be well into 4 figures on that solution.

I've seen a few kits to add the scoop, but I haven't seen one yet that deletes it. Swapping or getting used to it may be your most viable options.

I swapped my hood in fifteen minutes. Lined up perfectly with 0 adjustment needed on either truck.

If you want it to be mildly functional you can do what I did and take out the insert and cut the back open so that you get some air flow on the intake manifold at speed and heat venting when you're standing still.

^ The key to this conundrum will be to swap hoods with a truck of the same color.. ;)

Question , why did you buy a Sport if you don't like the scoop. There are other models you could of chosen that don't have a scoop.

I actually had a local here in south FL with a seriously lifted and negatively offset Chevy Silverado approach me in the Wawa parking lot and ask me if I did the scoop or if the truck came that way. When I said it came that way he went on and on about how cool it was.....:notsure:
