Greetings everyone. I just purchased a 2008 Tacoma Access Cab 4 cylinder 5 speed manual 4x2 to replace my beloved 97 Tacoma extra cab 4x2 that was the victim of frame corrosion. Toyota bought the truck back at a good price, but finding a replacement in a 2005-2008 was ridiculous. I spent 6 weeks looking and ended up going out of state 320 miles to get this truck. Apparently most 4 cyl access cabs are automatics and plain-Jane without power or cruise (the old "LX" package). I did add the variable speed wiper control. Sweet! Anyway, I'm really pleased with it. LOTS more room and the extra doors are great. Mileage isn't as good as the old truck (27 vs 30 hwy) but it's a fair trade off. Looking forward to many years together...hopefully without frame rust ; )

Man that was a haul to get a truck but it sounds like you knew exactly what you wanted.

    Welcome from Ohio.

It's well worth 300 miles to get the rig you want ;)

Yup. Well worth the drive and I got what I wanted. The SR5 package would have been nice, but hey, I got the truck for $3K under retail because it wasn't a 4x4...and in Michigan, a 4x2 doesn't sell well. I added the variable speed wiper stalk I bought on-line for $60 used. And my wife LOVES it. If she's extra nice to me, I'll let her drive it. :bananadance:
