I was between getting some of the 255/85r16 or some 265/75r16 and wanted as little rubbing as possible. If yall have pics or tips feel free to share. Keeping my stock 16 in trd pro wheels if that helps. Mudflaps are rekgens so they are fairly low profile. Thanks

Depending if you want the bigger or the smaller tire. Load e ( only on 255 ) or load c. Both won’t rub. You can even stuff 285 there if you like

Don’t go 285… it’ll track all over the place and follow every rut in the road. 255/85r16 are perfect but will be stiff and very heavy compared with stock. You’ll likely feel it on the pedal and at the pump.

Bear in mind that if you ever need to run chains up front you won’t have room though.

I’ve ran both sizes and both have advantages. I’m a fan of the 265/75/16 on a stock Tacoma and is what I will running when I replace the factory tires on my 20 Pro.

I want the meanest look and a fatter tire, but don't want to worry about rubbing. 285 won't rub? Light off-roading, mostly nothing technical, just lots of mud and gravel. I'm doing this mostly off looks and because I like them on the other trucks.

Stick to 265/75R16 E rated. 285 can be headaches and a good choice in tire will be beefy.

Cooper STT, Goodyear Duratrac, Nitto ridge grappler, bfg km3 are all gnarly looking tires that aren't quite mud terrains.

I think I will just go with the 265 then. Heading to order them after work. I don't plan on lifting it for two or three years so ill get 285s down the line. thanks

255's look odd, even though they are a 33 they look like tractor tires, I've seen a few STT's in that size, they are likely super effective but don't look right."

I've had two sets of 265 75 r16 and never regret it.

285/75/16 never had a rub or wandering. No other suspension mod besides factory Fox and fits. Your choice. Theres a thread about Pros and this tire size. I’ll try and look for it soon883A7EB7-0CED-4C70-8008-66EB12659999.jpg

I personally would go with 265/75/16 SL rated and stay away from E rated. But if you’re going to go off-roading more I guess E rated is fine. I had E rated BFG KO2s 265/75/16 and while I loved the look they tanked the power of the truck and mpg
