Last October 2020 I found a hole in my frame at the front cab mount. I had planned on waiting until closer to my inspection deadline date which was May 2021 but I brought in as soon as I saw the hole. I brought it to the dealer and Toyota Canada approved it for a new frame. I waited one month shy of a year for the frame to come in but I'm happy to have it done. Acadia Toyota in Moncton New Brunswick did the work and they did a great job, they even reinstalled my 1" body lift and 2.5" leveling kit.

Along with the new frame it came with upper and lower control arms, brake lines, rear shocks and all the new hardware. Plan to have it undercoated soon before winter and drive it for many years to come.

I have an 09 and am nervous. It came out of Canada and is now in the states. I took mine in for frame inspection in July of 2020. They had it for 4 days. They said the frame is rusty, but not perforated. They couldn’t put any rust preventative on it because it was from Canada. From what I’ve read, if the vehicle is from Canada but now lives in the states, Toyota will not warranty the frame. That was hinted on when it was with the dealer. Not actually a no, but was implied. My Tacoma only has 82,000 miles on it and runs great. I would hate to see it have to get scraped because of a frame issue. If I don’t look underneath the truck, the rust isn’t there, right. I wish.
