    Hello folks.

I just wanted to post a few pics of my Greenlane aluminum sliders here so you can see their quality work. They went on really easy, look amazing and I’ve had no problems with them at all. Best of all they’re a great Canadian company and I’m more than happy to deal with them again. Good customer service, beautiful product and they came packed up like Fort Knox. I honestly think it took longer to unwrap them than to mount them.
If you’re in the market for a hybrid aluminum step/slider you should give them a look.

I think it would be nice if we can have sticky to show all the Canadian companies that make/sell products, so many companies that I see that I never knew existed.

    That’s a great idea.

I know I have been jammed with fees from ordering out of the USofA before and I prefer to shop ‘local’ Canadian products. I wish I knew of them earlier and I’d likely get there roof rack also. I’m trying to decide what front bumper of theirs I’m going to save up for.

If the manufacturer says you can't hi-lift on it, it's a step, not a slider. I just don't think the weight savings are worth barely functioning sliders

They may not be recommended for a hi-lift, but they are much more just a step. They saved the side of my truck a couple weeks ago. Held the entire weight of the passenger side with no problem at all.

99.9 percent of the time it will be a step, for me, and that one time I need it to be a slider it’s more than enough. I don’t go hard in this truck as it’s my daily and I wanted the aluminium to survive the winters here. I see where your coming from, but this fits what I was looking for perfectly.

I'm looking at getting a set of those. I need protection for the rocker panels. I won't be using them to slide over a boulder. And the weight savings over steel sliders is huge.

Yes, I think so. Most of the time I'll be in Northern Ontario on easy to medium trails. So I won't be testing them every time I go out.

Just a data point for the aluminum sliders...

Some lady pulled into a parking spot next to my truck today. She came in a little hot, with too little care, and ended up running into the drivers side of my truck.

Thankfully I put the sliders (Greenlane Aluminum) on a few weeks ago, barely scuffed the powdercoat, but ripped the bumper clean off her mini van.

If it wasn't for the sliders I'm sure both of my driver's side doors and rockers would have been needing some love.a

nothing to really post, sliders barely got scuffed, no other damage.

Her van lost the bumper but it was in a shopping center parking lot. I was getting lunch. I was hoping the van would have been there when I got out but she was gone. Probably left dragging bumper remnants down the road.

How are you liking your Greenlane sliders far? Have you tested them out at all? And did you get the o* or the 12* ones? It's hard to tell from the pics.

I love the sliders. They are the 12* angled ones and they still give a great foot print for climbing all over the rig. As for ‘testing’ them, I haven’t bashed them off of anything yet, but I haven’t taken it them into deep waters. Most of my trails are not axel breakers and since I’ve got them I’ve only been on a few dusty trails camping and fishing.

i saw another review not too long ago, and they are indeed light... something like ~70lbs iirc, but i can't remember exactly.

for strength another option is SDHQ's chrome-moly sliders. they are 100lbs total including the hardware and they are as strong as anything steel, and are literally 50lbs lighter than all other steel options. i have them and weighted them at install. but expensive. then again so is aluminium.

Those look really nice. I just ordered the exact setup you have. If I'm reading the description on the website correct, you don't need to drill into the frame correct?

I didn’t have to drill at all. Went on no problems and very sturdy.
