Brand spanking new here to the forum.

For a few years I been looking for a Tacoma but never have pulled the trigger because I haven’t ran into the trim level that I wanted for a fair price. Till I think now…

Private seller has a 2008 TRD Sport 6’ 4x4 with just under 200,000 miles ask $18,500.

Interior and exterior is in great condition for its year.
Here is what he shared about the car:
Old Man Emu 2.5” lift kit
90021 shocks and 885 coils in the front
Complete Dakar leaf pack and 60091 shocks in the rear
Light Racing adjustable upper control arms
Factory 17’ TRD wheels powder coated black
    Black TRD center caps
Brand new tires as of 9/14/21
New brake pads and rotors as of 8/21
Steel braided brake lines front and rear
Sony stereo head unit with Infinity speakers front and rear
    UnderCover Tonneau
    AMP Research bed extender
ProEFX tow mirrors (currently not on)
    Factory tow package

When looking through the forums here it seems like it is priced a little high for its mileage. But I would like to here from the experience experts here. Also, this is in California.
    Thanks!

He’s pricing it due to all the upscale and all car prices these days I bought my 2005 double cab four-wheel-drive 4.0 L three years ago for $11,000 with a brand new frame and inside and out are in excellent condition
If he could drop that price three grand he would be in the realm in my opinion

    That’s what I figured.

Honestly, it’s the high miles for the price that’s concerning me. I know these trucks are bullet proof and this particular one was well taken care of.

My dad has a 1st gen Tacoma with over 300,000 miles on it and still running strong (engine and transmission).

With this 08 second gen already having 200,000 miles I’m thinking I can hopefully get 7 or 8 more years from it before it hits 300,000 miles. I now currently work from home so I don’t think I’ll be putting much miles on it like I would have before the pandemic.

I would wait a bit and let the prices settle. almost 20k for a truck with 200k sucks.

In the beginning of 2020 I paid $23,000 for a certified pre owned 2015 TRD sport with 60k on it.

    Wow! That’s a great deal!

I was thinking of offering $16,500 but I didn’t want to sound like a low ball offer. But also don’t want to regret spending that much on a 12 year old truck with high miles.

He works out of town so a lot of those miles were mainly highway miles which I don’t know if it means mutch for these trucks.
