    I've got a sr5 with about 85k on it.

I was given the suspension off of a Sport with about 17k on it.

If I'm guessing correctly I won't need the UCA's right?

Will I need to do leaf springs also or will mine be OK?

I also have access to the suspension off of an OR with about 20k on it. Including leafs.

What's my best option? Will any of this be a good upgrade for me or simply a waste of time?

My truck will VERY RARELY ever see dirt... and I don't have any plans to lift it for at least 2 years or so. Wheather that be the cheap route with the rough country spacers or my preferred route the 2" eibach kit. FB_IMG_1630793184751.jpg IMG_1593.jpg

My opinion? Keep it stock. If you aren’t going to benefit from the suspension, I’d save your money. Hell, put on a nice set of AT tires on it and call it a day. That’s just my opinion. I spent nearly 2 decades in Jeep’s with aftermarket suspension setups. All it ever accomplished was causing issues throughout the life of the vehicle. Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the SR5 sit at the same exact height as the Sport and OR?

As far as I know yes they are all the same height. I guess mostly I was wondering if it would improve ride quality at all. For one the sport suspension I was donated has far less mileage than my factory stuff. And then also there's the fact that it's "sport" not base. I actually just did a tire upgrade and LOVE it! I certainly don't want to cause any issues!

The SR5, sport and Off Road all sit at the same ride height.

The sport suspension will be much firmer on road and the OR will be much softer on road vs the SR5.

If you are looking for firmer or softer than make the change.

The leaf packs in the rear are all the same so don’t waste your time with changing that.

If any difference between your SR5 suspension and Sport suspension, I highly doubt you would even notice it. You could always just keep the parts for the future and replace worn suspension components years and years down the road. Thing is though, many of those 300k+ Tacoma’s are still riding on their original suspension setups with zero issues. I doubt your suspension is hardly even broken in.

Leave it alone, but if you are set on refreshing the system. The sport is a tad stiff and the or is a tad soft. The sr5 and limited share the same suspension and are a bit bouncy. The ucas are the same across the line.

The coil springs, leaf springs, and UCAs are the same on all 3rd gens with a possible exception of the Pro coil springs (anyone care to share?). The shocks are different on all the trims (albeit the SR and SR5 might be the same). Whether the shocks ride better is for the eye of the beholder. It's not worth the time and effort to swap them out IMHO.

The trd sport has blue Hitachi, the off road has yellow Hitachi (not 4600 bilstein) the sr5 and limited have the black Hitachi and the pro has the fox/trd.
Spring rates also vary between the off road, sport, limited/set models

The off road has rebranded Bilsteins. I have a pair of take offs in my garage. I know the Pro has Fox shocks, but I'm not sure if it has different coil springs. It does make some sense that they are made by Fox as well.

I have an sr5, purchased bilstein 5100's with off road springs. The color dots marked on the coils are different from the sr5 to the off road. The ride is different as well. I have changed to suspension on my truck 6 times in 5 years.
I have icon 2.5 now with a 650lb spring, but I will say my truck felt better with the 5100 ond the off reaid spring set to the first clip.

I've upgraded my 08 with 2 rounds of new-ish take offs (first OR, second Sport) and I'd say it's well worth the time. Update your UCA's and LCA's and leaves when you get a chance - it helps to make it feel tight again. You doing the work yourself?
