Dealership says NO

Good morning all,

I searched the threads and unable to find any information to back their claim so here I am asking Tacoma world. I was going to install a snorkel on my 2018 TRD sport 6 cylinder. The dealership said it won’t work.

Is dealership full of crap ?

 

Might and might not be as I believe it was a 2019 Pro option on.

 

Im assuming you are talking about the Factory Trd Pro Desert Air Intake. Which i beleive has been discontinued by Toyota. A bunch of vendors offer snorkels for 3rd gens. ARB, Dobinsons, Generic Ebay variety...etc. More than likely you will have to go aftermarket.

 

The desert intake/snorkel fits on all 3rd tacomas.
What was their reason for saying "it won't work"
As long as the air filter can get air..... it doesn't matter of it pulls from the wheel well, engine bay, or where ever you relocate the hole.

Can you install a snorkel? You betcha. Dealer probably just doesn't want to, because it involves cutting the fender and air box.



Do you want the snorkel to ford deep water? That's the part that won't work.

 

Ty - my body shop friend was going to do install, they never said why to him just no it wouldn’t work
