Yes, they install on the 8.4. Only an issue if you have 8.0 TRD locker rear. The Truetracs are fantastic units, I highly recommend. I swapped my 8.0 to an 8.4 just to run one, I’ve had them in 3 Toyota trucks so far.

Thats advertised for 1st Gen. You'd need to look into if the units are the same to 2nd Gen, I'd imagine not or that should go up to 2015. Likely won't fit your truck.

Something's goofy there. I have the exact same model number installed in my truck.

The model number stated should be for 8.4 diffs for 05-15 tacos and T100 tundra.

I ordered the out East Coast Gear Supply.

It's the correct model number but the info on the webpage is wrong. So they made a mistake of posting EITHER the wrong model number OR the wrong info for vehicles that it fits.

Probably best to call to clarify OR order from a different vendor.

Does this part just bolts on or do I need to buy other part or do some kind of modification on my truck to make it fit? I'm hoping I can just buy this. find a mechanic to install it, take it and just have fun on the trail

No other parts needed but needs to be installed by a shop that can set gears. Not something the average mechanic can do. I’d recommend a shop that specializes in rear ends/diffs.

Just to be on the safe side I'll call the main company that sells it and ask for the right part for my truck.. This would work good enough not really going to Rock crawl or do extreme off roading. I'm not buying that one anymore in ebay. Lol thank you

I had one on my ‘94, it was my favorite upgrade hands down.

I’m a firm believer that a true-trac rear and selectable front locker is the way to go for a primarily daily driven truck. Care should be used with the front locker.

Thanks I was kinda thinking twice reading some forums online. Some say it's if you already have lsd it's not much of a difference but some say it's works way better than stock lsd.

Older tacos have clutch pack style lsd's and the clutches will eventually need replacing as performance degrades. At that point a truetrac is probably a better option than replacing the clutches in the diff.

The newer trucks have an open diff and use electronically controlled braking to simulate an lsd. This works just ok. The truetrac works better and with it the electronic "fake" lsd barely ever kicks in.

I think the truetrac is a better option no matter what.

Awesome! Thanks for that info and the help. Been watching videos but not doesn't give much info that I'm looking for. My truck has lsd and Burning rubber works great but off roading is pretty much useless. Lol. Didn't want a true lockers because i don't really need it and didn't want to spend thousands of dollars.

Agree. My Truetrac is a great replacement for the worn out mechanical LSD in mine. Better than a locker on the street where 99% of trucks get used and still very good off road.

OP - Yes, you can put a Truetrac in. Mine is installed in an 06 Sport.

Yep. I removed my OEM locker for the TrueTrac. No regrets, way more useful 99% of the time.
