Changed front driver side diff axel to ECGS BUSHING. They recommend 85w 140 Lucas non synthetic oil.
Hi all tacoma truck owners. I recently changed my front differential driver side axle and installed a ECGS bushing. They say to use 85w 140 non synthetic oil. Oil started leaking from breather tube and causing a mess. I drained some oil to the point where I can put my finger in diff and feel oil on tip of my finger. Oil still leaks out. Can any one give me advice or tell me what’s wrong.

maybe overfilled? i filled mine to the top of the fill hole and a bunch of oil shot out the breather. filled up again and more shot out. i think 'up to the top of the hole' may be more that she can handle.

It seems like some do it, and some don’t.
So far mine hasn’t done it and I used 85w-140 also.
Still a bit nervous as we haven’t had cold temps yet.

Anyways, yes. It’s happened, and I still haven’t seen a good answer as to why.
Here is a post about it not too long ago.
You might try the filter mod? Or just run 75w-90? But who knows, it still might do it?

FWIW, I even made a post about this when I did mine
