Just got an oil change and the service guy noticed this grease on my CV Axle. Is this a major problem?

looks like the boot is split...probably need to start looking to get that boot replaced or the CV axle replaced.

Not yet anyway. Over time water will get in that boot and wash out all the grease. Once this happens you will probably be able to hear the noise from the dry bearings turning and it will just get worse from there. The good news is they aren't very expensive and not to bad to install yourself. Go ahead and plan a day the next month or two and get her done. It happens to all of us sooner or latter.

Yup. Like Rascal737 said not the end of the world, but you do want to looking into getting it fixed. You can see where a lot of the grease has already come out and been flung at the inside of the LCA.

Pretty sure you can get a boot kit from Toyota and have it replaced with new grease. Or you can keep your eyes open for a used CV to pickup and just swap in
