Yes, it will fit your sport. I have one on mine. You will have to remove your front air dam for it to fit.
They are telling you it doesn’t fit your tuck because it’s an OEM part for a PRO.

Check with your Toyota dealer. Mine will price match and if it's not in stock, they can get it by the next day (If it's not back ordered.) List price is $400 before any discounts.
I was lucky enough to fine a used one but I can attest that it doesn't bang or clang.
(Painted the letters to match the truck.)
I'm 72 and put mine on by myself. If I had a friend to help it would have been worth a case of beer. In my opinion, that air dam thingy is just for show anyway.

It fit great on my 2019 Sport MT and was a fast & easy install. Best with two people because it is kind of heavy. I get no clanks or rattles while driving after installation. I did not use red/blue thread locker, but will get under and retorque once a year so probably fine. Was $400 from dealer parts dept. Now I only need to think about how to do a clean oil change through that little square opening lol...

I installed the TRD skidplate today with no issues at all. So yes it fits a 2018 Tacoma Sport 4x4!
Thank you all for your input.

I really want one of the OEM ones… only thing holding me back is the fact I live in the north east where there’s so much salt on the roads for 6 months if the year…

Any one have one of these installed for several years and drive on salted roads?

Right... so it does not rust... but aluminum does oxidize - and the constant salt / gravel / abuse of winters certainly corrodes wheels around the parts - so I'm looking for anyone who has run this under these conditions to know if the power coat (or whatever it's got) stands up to that - or if they have gotten bubbling in places... also - the hardware is not - and my Tundra had the aluminum exhaust heat shields do the ole bi-metal oxidization and fall off where they were attached with steel to the frame. So - just cause it's aluminum does not mean it's not a mess in a couple of years around here.

So circling back here a minute; I just ordered the TRD Pro from BAM right before I read all this. Order went through without issue, no questions asked, never inputted my VIN. It shipped and should be here in a couple days.

I ran Ricochet bare aluminum for many years in Ohio. No issues. I do Fluid Film, though not directly on the skids which helps the hardware part at least

It's a freaking skid plate on the bottom of a truck for God's sake! It's going to get beat up, smacked around, dirty, and exposed to who knows what under there. Maybe you can wash and wax yours weekly to keep it looking showroom fresh?

Mine went through one winter and just every wash I used a separate wash mitt with soap and crawled under there to try and clean it off a little. Still looked great. Powder coat is pretty durable

Not trying to put words in anyone's mouth but a big reason that a lot of people pay the $ for the TRD skiddy is for the look of it. So just asking if thing stays looking nice, is a valid question. If not, then you might as well just get the cheaper knock-off one that was talked about.

Here's my 2018 TRD Sport with the skid plate. I bought mine from Glen Mills Toyota for $340 with free shipping.

Props on the black paint. I did the same.

It looks like the spacer is visible, which would indicate that you removed the Member Braces?

    upload_2021-9-23_7-40-0.jpg

I did the same when rushing the first installation. Replacing them might quiet it down? Mine is silent even though I find all kinds of stuff loaded in it when I drop it for oil changes.
