I need the tools for that; welder, need to tub, truck would need to be down while I tub, money money money.

These gas prices suck dick too. Keeping 285's or even thinking of 255's if the prices keep going up.

    Just not in the cards.

    Photo dump.

Hiking and fishing yesterday with the girlfriend and pup. Perfect weather and a perfect day. Just what the doctor ordered.

Oil change light came on this afternoon.

Have amsoil ful synth in it now. Hoping to do an oil change Sunday. My buddy is a dealer for amsoil but I would have to drive to his place to pick it up.

Big box stores recommendation on oil brand?

    Mobil 1 full synthetic?

Mobile 1 is my go to. I’ve used it in all of my vehicles for years.

You can always get a good deal on Mobile 1 at Autozone. They usually have their oil change kits on sale to include the oil filter for free.

Appreciate it. I fully understand that oil preference is completely opinionated. Heard good things about Mobil 1 and rotella.

I'll see what the local AutoZone has on sale.

Genuinely curious about it. Definitely an inexpensive option. To be honest, that was the plan but this light coming on was unexpected since I thought I had more time and I intended to be better prepared. The next few weeks are going to be a bit chaotic and I need to address this sooner rather than later.

It would appear that oil ships in 2-4 weeks:

Amazon Basics Full Synthetic Motor Oil, SN Plus, 5W-30, 5 Quart https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C5FF8R5

Hoping to get my radiator support cracks fixed in the next few weeks before a trip.

My mantra is cheap oil that meets industry standards and change it right on time/slightly shorter intervals. It’s worked well for me so far.

Mobil1 user here as well. I get it at my local Walmart because they also sell Toyota OEM filters. Usually put the regular in, but have also put in the "truck/suv" variety and noticed no difference. Pretty sure it was the same price too. :notsure:

The Amazon stuff is fine as well. Its made by Warren which is a custom blender for oils, just like a few other brands (walmarts house brand, etc). By all accounts it falls somewhere between really good (esp for the price) and acceptably average.

Going to be prepared ahead of time next time and have everything on hand and ready to go.

Going to keep the filters on hand as well:

$30 for a jug and a filter. Boom.

Also, can never have too much brake cleaner. Double also, fuck these trucks for requiring me to spend the extra $8 on a quart to use HALF that bitch. Triple also, oil companies should sell 1/2 quarts of oil. Fuck you very much Toyota.

    J/k Toyota is bae.

Dude, I NEVER put that extra 1/2 quart in. I always dump a jug in and it reads halfway up the dipstick. I wanna say that the difference between the upper and lower limits of the dipstick is a full quart, so it's not exactly precise. Something to think about.
