Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

So far so good, going on 3 years and I have zero reason to leave.

When I was little the first time i was told to cut the yard I decided designs in the yard would look lovely.

The powers to be did not think that was the case I was never allowed to ever cut the yard again.

 

Lucky you. I once mowed the yard in too high a gear and my dad made me mow the entire thing over.

 

I used to do that, my Dad didn’t like the crazy designs but he did appreciate it when I did a cross hatch.

 

Just watched a guy do a front break job on a 4Runner, put the grease on the front of the pads. Then he tightened the lugs in a circular pattern instead of a star.

I know it’s sort of trivial, the grease will wear off but, this is also the guy that is adamant his Triton V8 is a 5.7 liter.

Just needed to vent to people who will understand. Planning to drop this in another thread or two for discussion as well.

Tritons only came in 4.6 and 5.4 flavors for the trucks no? Grease on the front of the pads is inexcusable and potentially dangerous. Sounds like a lube monkey that needs to have his tools taken away.

 

Oh yeah, big brain time today.

Well he has a van but it’s the same deal. That’s what I told him, 4.6 or 5.4, take it or leave it. He’s like “nah it’s a 5.7 bro”. Ehhhhhaactually not but okay man.
He starts an automotive program at the local vocational college in November, hopefully he’ll learn something.
He did at least “bed them” driving up and down the street hitting hard on the brakes. I checked afterwards when nobody was looking and there was barely any grease left on them, so it should be okay.

 

That first stop must be interesting...

I wasn’t in the vehicle for that part but I imagine it was a longer stop distance than usual.

It’s a death trap waiting to happen.
That needs to be done over again.
And he should be written up.
And if you saw that and said nothing you should be written up too.

 

You should have him point to the sticker under the good that tells you what size the engine is.

I should have italicized “it should be good” to convey the sarcasm.
I absolutely said something, then I pulled them and did it properly myself.
