So I've done some digging around and it seems to be an unorthodox use for a Tacoma...

I'm about to move to the city and will be losing my garage space (sad man tears). I have a lot of tools, fishing equipment, and camping equipment that I need to condense into my truck. I have one toolbox on it now, and I love the weatherproof and locking storage it provides. I'm wondering if anyone else has done something similar to this. I had a professor in college who simply put 4 boxes on his 2WD Suzuki pickup and it was the equivalent of driving around a $10,000 Snap-On cart. I also would like to put a bed rack on the back to haul my kayak, camping shower, and surf fishing rods. I don't have the money for a Decked system, and I honestly love the DIY process much more. Anyone have any cool builds or ideas they'd like to share? I use the truck for moderate off-roading and light towing, so my focus is definitely on equipment storage. Thanks!

I've designed a bed rack that I'm gonna be making soon. Still need to order all of the sheet metal pieces from SendCutSend, Aluminum Extrusions and Hardware from McMaster. It'll be a bolt together rack, no welding required. Super DIY, and hoping it's pretty bomber!!

With that much weight . More than likely you will need to upgrade your suspension.
