Im thinking this is a great forum to ask this.
I live in NY and just got approved for permanent remote work. My gf and I are going to live in Rio de janeiro for 6 months then return to the USA. We would like to drive out to British Columbia to bike for some time and then go to settle somewhere in the West like oregon, utah, colorado, etc. I don't know anything other than the East coast so we are looking for suggestions of a cool town, near to beautiful nature, and modern. We eventually would like to start a cafe with health foods so it would be nice to have a demographic with a healthy lifestyle.

UCA's, Deaver leafs, 17x9 Black Rhyno Warlords, 33" Toyo M/T's, Metal Tech rear bumper, Westin HDX drop steps with Bullet Liner coating, K&N CAI, Baja Designs fog pods, Rigid Midnight addition 3" pod ditch lights. Cali Raised brackets and 32" behind the grill mounted light bar, Southern Style Offroad Lopro Stage II front bumper, Warn winch, FACTOR 55 Ultra Hook, FACTOR 55 Hawes Fairleed, full debadge, Cosmetic goodies such as 15% carbon tint, matte black in channel rain guards, interior LED's, Teton Workshop shift knob, Inferno vinyl detailing on the interior, Cali Raised multi rocker switch cubby insert with Mc Tuning LED switches and a few other mods I've probably left out.
I would have said Bend 10 years ago when the cost of living was still somewhat affordable. Bend now holds the title of city with the highest cost of living in the state. Check out the southern Oregon area. Roseburg, Grants Pass and Ashland to name a few. Beautiful country and it hasn't been hit as hard by the insane housing price increases.

thanks. Here in Long Island has had high prices for years and only increased during the pandemic. Common to see $14k property tax, and with $100k down, the mortgage is still $2500+ And the traffic and people is bad
