Was tending to some rust in my engine bay and needed to unplug my secondary air pump (2009 - 4 cyl) After plugging the pump back in and starting the truck it threw an engine check error. I assumed it was related to the air pump so I unplugged again and ensure I had no dirt or moisture and re-plugged it in and made sure it snapped tight. But check engine light was still on. Took t to Autozone to have them read the code and they said it was showing a fault in the secondary air pump as I assumed (they didnt give me the actual code).

So I assume the pump isn't necessarily bad as it worked fine before I unplugged it. How do I clear this code and how do I make sure the pump is in fact okay?

Any code reader should be able to clear the code, you can also disconnect the battery for a few min to clear it but beware it may take some time for the truck to relearn it's idle and other drivability parameters if you go that route.
I think I'd clear the code and see if it comes back, if it does post up the code number so we know what to check for.

Thx, I disconnected the battery and it went away, I'll see if it returns.
