Hello Everyone. I bought my 2007 Toyota Tacoma new, maintained it and kept it in great shape. only problem is the rusted frame. I went to Toyota after I received the recall in 2016. They put their undercoat on and said it hadn't rusted through. In feb. 21, 2021 I went back to Toyota and said my Mechanic showed me it had rusted through. It is unsafe to be put on a lift to do an alignment. They refused to help. Stating it was past their recall date. What should I do.? I love my truck, runs great, but I'm affraid it will fall apart on me while im taking my grandchildren to school. I'll sell it , but what do I ask? everything is perfect on it , except the Frame? please advise.

    Sincerly,
    The LittleLady

Way past the recall date.. Sell the truck to someone who wants a project or rebuild/replace the frame yourself if you really like the truck. It’s a 14 year old truck and you can’t expect any automaker to warranty anything on it any more.

Is it worth fixing? Ask your mechanic what he thinks. New trucks are crazy money, perhaps hunting down a rust free frame from California, Arizona, Texas, or other dry climate state might not be as expensive as buying a new truck. If you are able to do the work yourself it’s a lot of work but you’ll save a bundle.
