+2 total chaos kit and 33's, I was really wanting to keep stock fenders with this setup but its looking like Im going to need to check for clearance at bump and see whats what. whats the best/safest way to go about it?

    All of them.
Fronts, pull the springs off the shock. Rears, break down the leafs to a single leaf or 2.

why not total coilover removal? jack under tire? seems sketchy, if there was a way to hold the brake so the tire couldnt roll and kick the jack out

    All of them.
That would confirm tire fitment but not where you would need to bump your travel at to prevent shock bottoming

Stock bump stops / durobumps etc. will limit up travel before the shock so just pull the coilover and put your frame on jackstands. Use a jack to lift the lower or under the tire and crank your steering wheel full left and right to see where you rub.

Not necessary. Only if the coil over is the correct size, and/ or shock mounts are set up correctly. Always cycle with the shock bolted up once to make sure.

I did this when installing upper shock / coilover mounts but unless someone’s ditching stock coil buckets and / or bump stops, having a correctly spec’d coilover for a bolt on kit makes the body the limiting factor in up travel if you’ve got 33’s on up.

Truck needs to be safely on jack stands to the frame which ever side you are cycling.

Then you cycle with a jack under the lower a-arm up front or under the axle out back, not under the tire.

With springs removed or leaf pack broken down like already mentioned.

If you've never done it before and don't have all the right tools it will seem like a lot of work

If you've been building trucks for years it's about as hard as making a piece of toast

    we all gotta start somewhere

You could just pull the coilovers and bump stops and cylce metal to metal (uniball misalignments maxed out) to be on the safe side.

If you are bottoming the truck out hard off road, jumping/whoops, the rubber body mounts can compress and everything can flex past where you think full bump is while cyclimg suspension on jack stands.

I consider wood blocks as "tools" for jacking up suspension
