Has anyone modified a 2.7 engine?
I love my base 2wd tacoma with the 4 banger 2.7....but where i live if i need to pass in the 80-120km hr range......its downright scary, kind of gutless.....how do i het better accelleration?

Loose weight. Remove the unused seats, lighter tires and wheels, run the truck through an acid bath. :mudding:

I have removed unused seats and recently lost 30 lbs.....that thread above wasnt helpfull....so nothing yet. ???
I also have larger aluminum summer wheels and tires which does help a little especially cornering, but i want more zoom.
I saw a turbo/supercharger online but for 5 grand u.s. and im not a great mechanic.....im wondering if anyones done any tuning or exhaust....ecu? Throttle body? Easy power ups.

Go to the first page of that thread above. It has tons of links to performance mods for the 2.7l.

Pop the number 4 coil out and see if it’s wet with oil or dry at the plug. If it’s wet you need valve cover and spark plug tube gaskets. My truck runs like Jack the Bear in those speed ranges you’ve described

Okay yes page 1 is where its at....and the first build after is intense....but question 1, will "cold air intake" gain me power.....i have heard it nakes more noise, but that stock the fender intake is cold air....?? Lots of those things are to pricey and conplex for me so thinking the exhaust i could have done??? Will it help though.....or just be obnoxious....i like how quiet my truck is (steroe aside)

Run the RPMs up to 4500 she can handle. I assume you have a stick shift. Right?

All of that shit does nothing. Make sure the engine is running correctly, first

If you can find - locate an old TRD " black case" supercharger and install it on your 3RZ , you're going to enjoy the new found power . This is what I'm running on my 3RZ and with a header , catback and CAI you'll enjoy it

I'm not running a Party pulley just running at 5lbs boost and I'm making the same hp as a stock V6 . I used to live in the Socal High Desert and drove on the 4500ft Cajon pass . I could easily maintain 70 mph up this steep pass even passing newer 3rd gen tacoma's with ease
