Story Time With Gritto


So it seems like only a few weeks ago that I said, right here in Whatever:

"I'm not upgrading to a new phone until I have to."

(That's because it was only a few weeks ago)

Then last weekend I got an email saying I had to upgrade to 5G phones...
...on account of the ones we have being obsolete, Sprint closing down its LTE network (which my carrier used)...
...some shit like that.



So I ordered new ones for me and Mrs Gritto





Fast forward to this morning.
Mrs Gritto and I are up at the Fall Fest at St Rita's.
I get a double shot of espresso from a coffee vendor.

Mrs Gritto: "You sure that's a good idea? I mean, you've already had your coffee earlier this morning."
Me: "No problemo."




We come home for lunch and Hey Presto.
Mrs Gritto's phone has arrived.

I got dis, mang.
Downloaded the manual and dug into it.


Spent an hour on the phone with my carrier (was cut off somehow 3, count 'em 3 times), plus being on hold a bunch.
Couldn't do it online cuz new SIM card or something.
And the options on that new phone are insane.
I went down one rabbit hole after another, after another, after another.
I just couldn't help myself.

Several hours later...

...done.


Whew, what a day!
It's a good thing I'm retired.
