Hi everyone my name is Tom. I live in upstate ny. I’m a retired senior. Been on the form for a couple of weeks. A lot of great information on here. I put a deposit on a trd off road that the dealer had on allocation. That was built 8/26. And it arrived yesterday 9/23. I pick it up Saturday. I can’t believe how lucky I am to get it that fast. It is MGM auto short bed.
I have been doing my off roading with a Polaris side x side. On tug hill. I don’t know if there any mild trails for my taco around here? Looking forward to owning my new taco.
Thank you everyone for all the information on here. Looks like there are a great bunch of people on here.

Where in NY? There isn’t much in NY for wheeling. I know tug hill is mostly for SxS and snow machines.

I am in Jefferson County. 30 miles from the Canadian border. Yes I know there isn’t much on tug Hill for 4 wheeling. Been looking on Facebook. There are some clubs downstate from me. I might ask around up on tug hill. I did meet a person at the gas station when I was going wheeling. They said they had private land down toward Cape Vincent. They run off road vehicles there. Wish I would’ve gotten their phone number.

Yeah wheeling opportunities in NY are few and far between, especially from that far up. There are 2 offroad parks with camping (Mettowee and BHM), Mettowee is east of Lake George and BHM is out by Binghamton. I had heard there were nice spots by Saranac as well, @adk_tacoma would know better than me

Westin outdoors man winch brush guard, custom switch board, Custom machined tow hooks, 255/85/r16 tires, trd shocks and struts, oba in bed cubby, ladder rack, JDUB skid plate
And those are heavily guarded secrets. Unfortunately people have ruined many of our opportunities to wheel by dumping trash along the roads and trails.

A little of this and a little of that.
Welcome to TW and congrats on your new truck.

I know the Tug Hill area, growing up near Geneva, but I have an Aunt & Uncle that live in Redfield. I don't know of any off-road areas in Upstate NY anymore.

Yes I think it might have to be a camping thing. Might have to travel and stay a couple days. Not a whole lot up here. Lucky we even have tug Hill to ride.

Yes my brother and I pick up a lot of empty cans and litter on the trails. People definitely don’t have respect and appreciate the opportunity they have.

I do see some jeeps and other vehicles running up there on the trails. And driving off on places they shouldn’t be going. I hope they don’t ruin it for us.

Thank you for all the good info. I definitely want to look into rust proofing they lay it down heavy up here in the winter time. Our vehicles are white most of the time from the salt.

Definitely looking into the fluid filim. I called a guy that does it locally. He said he can do it for $139. I thought it was pretty reasonable. And thank you for all the other links. I’ve got a lot of reading to do that’s for sure.
