Hey guys i have a stock 2wd 2008 taco and have been wanting some new rims because i don't like the look of the steel 15 stock rims. I ended up finding a cheap solution and been procrastinating till i passed this taco for sale with some on it. Seeing this truck has made me move forward into getting some. Undecided on size. Id like to replicate the ones i saw. I was able to get the tire size but not sure of tire size. Does anyone know the sizing info on how to mirror these same ones ?? Here is pics of the truck i saw. Thanks Everyone. These are 14's20210918_093002.jpg 20210918_093055.jpg 20210918_093002.jpg 20210918_093055.jpg 20210918_093002.jpg 20210918_093055.jpg 20210918_093002.jpg 20210918_093055.jpg

I'm almost certain you need at least 15" to clear the 2nd gen 5 lug Tacoma's brakes.

The six lugs need 16" with very few rare exceptions if I recall correctly.

Great point i didnt even consider that. Offset wise will i be able to go 0 offset to help the stance a bit? Everyone ive seen with them have a -positive 12- i believe.

0 offset means the hub face is in the center of the wheel, +12mm means the hub is more to the outside meaning the wheel will be more under the truck. For brake clearance you would need negative offset but it won't chance much unless you're truly just a hair tight on the drop center of the wheel and I personally wouldn't run a wheel that was too tight to the brakes as it can reduce brake cooling and cause little gravel rocks to get jammed up.

If the wheel bore isn't large enough to clear the rotor/caliper it's not going to work regardless of offset unless you're mounting them on like cartoonish extensions well clear of the trucks hub.

Just going by the tire size and rim combo, I really don’t think its wise to copy a build from a guy that uses D-rings and rebar as part of his custom front bumper design. WTF???

I mean rebar is solid mild steel, probably just sat strong as that tube next to it and those D rings look like tie off points which are usually rated for 23kn of shock load, similar to a 3/4" shackle (200lb person falling into their 6' lanyard and harness) perhaps a bit unconventional but I don't think it's really that bad of a build to be honest.

Real question is whether that tire/rim setup will fit a 5 lug 2nd gen with no lift..

Tire looks to be a 27x8.50r14 so if anything it's probably too small.

You're right. Maybe thats actually a concrete bumper and not steel. This guy might be ahead of his time with his innovation. I wonder if it comes bare or stained?
