Afternoon Robert! I’ve got a small leak coming from this area, definitely oil. Could it be a gasket? Or a loose screw?

I would start by checking all the bolts on the oil pans near there, but it's likely a gasket. Toyota uses FIPG there in place of a gasket. Worst comes the worst, i would drop both oil pans, and reseal them that way. I must ask though, what is with the extra motor?! you having one built? Hopefully you're not having issues.

It's a little hard to tell from the pic, but is the oil coming from between the block and the timing cover? if so, you can remove the timing cover and reseal it without removing the oil pans, that's how i did my head gasket job

Oh okay, good deal, glad you're not having any issues with yours. I think i have a similar very slow leak/weep on my new engine. I sealed the timing cover up per the manual, but there is a slow seep from somewhere. I've kinda chocked it up as normal since my old engine had the same leak. Although, i think mine is higher up behind the alternator

leak is coming from either one of the bolts down there or the gasket area in pic below

Okay yeah, then that fix would be dropping the lower and upper oil pans and just resealing them. How bad is it leaking? Enough to leave spots where it’s parked?

No not yet that bad but im proactive and want to stop it before it becomes a bigger issue. I removed all the skids so this would be a good opportunity. Plus if its leaking that mean water could possibly be getting in when i go through water crossings and stuff.

I’ve got a similar slow weep even after sealing mine up per the factory manual when I did my head gasket a few months back. Hard to tell from your pic but yours might be coming from up above where the timing cover meets the block too0FE4011E-91E5-4D22-BF7B-8CD78C22ADAB.jpg

    Howdy fellas:hattip:

I’ve got an update for yall.. these are going on tomorrow morning. Should be a better match for the 5.29s than my 33s are currently. For anyone curious I threw these on the scale and they weighed 64.4 lbs. that is slightly less than advertised by nitto

those 5.29 will make your truck a real stump puller!

I got my clutch done yesterday. Also put a short throw shifter in, it’s like a whole new truck now.

Excellent! I got a drain from the boost lab on order and I’m working on more of the oil lines and fittings reqd this weekend. Won’t be long now!
The 5.29s do help a lot on the low end. They also make driving on the hwy much more pleasant. Don’t have to do the 4-5 5-4 dance anymore. Which clutch and shifter did you go with? Short shifters do make a big difference on these trucks. Stock is like rowing a boat

Got em on! Speedo is off a little bit so I’ll have to do some minor adjusting there. So far so good though, nice and quiet so far
