Our Tacoma is vibrating really bad when we drive 25mph to 35 mph, anyone else have this issue?

I am having the same symptoms I am having the same symptoms I took it to a transmission shop and they told me the same , let me know if you find out the exact cause. Btw i changed all 3 u joints and carrier bearings and that wasnt problem

BTW the carrier bearing has a lot of flex and movement while under load, it will bounce around Like crazy putting a lot of pressure on the u joints causing them to prematurely fail. I filled the rubber boot, whatever, with 100% silicon to stiffen it up and used 3/4 inch spacers to drop it so the drive shafts were not at such sever angles. You can use washers as spacers or a block of steel or aluminum. I think someone on here may even sale them. Also check out the YouTube video showing what happens to the drive shaft, rear end, u joints and center bearing under acceleration. Tons of wrap and movement. Can't remember the name of it but if you put enough relevant words together it should pop up.[

Ok so this is a really old thread..
I’m sure he meant 4hi as in 4x4 to see if vibe goes away…

I had the same thing. I referred to it as a shudder between 25-40mph.

I cleaned MAF, cleaned throttle body and installed new spark plugs. Shudder still there.

Filled tank from 1/4 to full with premium 93 octane from a good gas station.

Shudder was almost completely gone. I dropped transmission pan and installed new filter. That drained 4 quarts out of the transmission. Holds about 13.

It took 4.5 to fill it to the check plug at temp with 10oz of Lubegard Platinum.

Shudder is completely gone.

I got lucky because from what I've read in here, many things can cause or contribute to that shudder.
