How bad does everyone's flares chip?

It's a truck... I get it. I made sure to get a trim with plastic flares because of chips but I've only had this truck for a week.

I'm not too fussed about it... Mostly just curious.

Interesting, I’ll have to check mine. I’ve had my truck for over two years, been on quite a few trails/gravel roads and I’m sure my fender flares don’t look anything close to yours. And no I don’t have mud flaps, but I do have sliders

Mud flaps and running boards will stop some....but not all. I have both and still have some chips.

That things peppered. Are they all like that? Three years and plenty of crappy roads on and off and mine don’t look like that. I don’t have running boards or mud flaps. Lifted with 33s and they throw stuff up on the sides a bit

Mine started to get like that, but I put on mud flaps and it really helped out.

These are the rears. Both sides are like that.

I put Rokblokz XL mudflaps on the truck the second day I had it. Probably have driven about 500kms of gravel roads.

Are you on stock everything? If you're running spacers/wider tires and kicking your tires out expect to kick rocks at your own vehicle constantly even on paved roads.

My 20 ORLB look like that and I have the factory mud flaps. Just added some 2nd gen step tubes so we'll see if they continue to get peppered.
When driving on gravel I keep it to 35mph or under.

Stock other than tires. 265/75/16 ATs. So not much bigger than stock...but of course the treads are grabbing more stones. I know that they'll throw rocks, and again, I'm not overly concerned about it I was just surprised by the amount of chips already.

Where I live it's pretty much all gravel roads. If I only drove 35mph both me, and everyone behind me, would never get anywhere. I'm usually driving 55mph everywhere. So I likely drive more gravel, and faster speeds, than most. Some of our highways here are gravel. It's unavoidable.

You may want to do a 3m clear bra on the higher damage areas. I also noticed you have more aggressive tires than stock, they may trap more of the gravel and fling it.

I noticed a tiny BB like dent in my rear passenger side tire fender flare the other day after getting out of the truck to see what made the noise that hit the truck. Thought it'd be way worse, but really not noticeable after i rubbed off whatever hit it. I suspect these fender flares got the ceramic glass coat like the rest of the truck, so any damage was very minor. Still no paint chips anywhere on the truck.
