Ultimate LED turn signals

My guess would be one bad trace on the board but if it's 3 traces (white, amber, ground) then it could be just one of the +'s or if it's the ground then it'd be both? I'd be willing to wager MESO already knows what the scoop is. I feel bad for him, the design is great, the configurability is awesome, just seems like Morimoto dropped the ball on executing?

I also feel bad for him. I’m new to this world (Meso specifically) but everything I’ve gotten of his and seen of his has been top notch. Kinda lame that this collaboration with a well known highly respected company has launched like this and the issue is now his to “clean up”. I’m hoping this isn’t a precursor to possible issues with the tail lights coming

I ordered white/amber as well and was not planning on installing it until @MESO has a harness for OEM LED headlights ... but now, I guess I have to find some time to check if mine has an issue as well.

Not worried though coz he always back up his products so I know he'll address it.

I was under the impression that the 2pin connector (that plugs into the puddle pods) helps power the DRL function. Is that not the case?

 

Same. I'm sitting here waiting on mine to deliver right now. May have to wait until Thursday to install and find out.

Good morning everyone Busy weekend, finally getting caught up in the shop. Working my way though PM's just bare with me.
I've seen a few posts about the drivers side signal having 3 LED's out. So far I have a list of 18 customers that have contacted me about this. While it's not a lot compared to how many went out(almost 1,000 sets) It's more than I'd like to have. I am going though inventory again today to see if I can find one that replicates this issue. I need to pinpoint if it's from assembly(when sealing the halves together) or from production(bad component, driver, etc). Either way, rest assured I have some aside for warranty and can will send out a replacement the same day if you are affected.

Regarding the wiring. If you have OEM 2020+ LED headlights, I am still working on a large production run for Plug and Play adapters. In the meantime there are a few forums members selling "T"harnesses in the Classifieds section that will work as well. All you are doing is tapping 2 wires; DRL and ILLUMINATION.

I have received questions if you need 1 or 2 PnP harnesses. The answer is ONE. Both LEFT and RIGHT mirror wires will go through the door and into the cab. Then through the firewall and connect TOGETHER into 1 harness that plugs in behind the headlight. All we are doing is getting power/signal from the stock wires. Theoretically you could tap off either side headlight as the side does not matter.

IF YOU HAVE PUDDLES and want to use the 2 "pre-wire" that are already in the door, you can opt for this install as well. You will NOT need to use a Plug and Play harness if you go this route. One or the other. Keep in mind, the puddle wires in the door are IGNITION and ILLUMINATION. NOT a true DRL. Basically the signals will turn on bright when the truck starts(and off when it shuts off) but you will not be able to control them though the DRL switch on the steering column stalk. A true DRL signal was not available in the A pillar(puddle) Harness. The ONLY way is to run it in the engine bay and grab the signal behind the headlight.

Ok guys. I think I found the issue. On the drivers side the space between the lens and the light was just tight enough to press up on the LED causing it not turn on. It had to happen during the sealing process as pressure is applied to the front. I am personally plugging in every single one today to get an idea how many have this defect. I should have caught this but I am making this a priority to get remedied.

Yeah there are some other work arounds(relays and such), but the easiest for DRL signal(for a customer to plug something in) is behind the headlight. Let me know the DRL signal in cab and maybe I can revise it for an easier install.

 

Any way we can self-fix to save you headache? Seems like that might be a possibility?

 

Unfortunately not since you would have to break open the seal of the housing jeopardizing the waterproof seal. I am holding off selling anymore until I go through every single one. But in the meantime I am happy to send out a good one if yours had this issue. In the end we will get it all worked out, but I take this error personally.

Mine arrived today. Wish I had time for the install today. I'll do it on Thursday. I have to uninstall my current ones, including the wiring and add a fuses. Can't wait.

 

Appreciate the clarity Stew. What is the estimated lifetime of the LED? I plan on just having it run off the Puddle Pods so they're going to be on all the time.

Sorry if this has been discussed already but is there a how to write up on running the red and white wires from the turn signals to the headlights where I will connect to the harness provided - IE: best path to follow, steps needed to do this?
