    Howdy y'all,

Just got the call that my Snugtop Rebel is ready for install (much quicker than expected -- was originally told to expect 8-16 weeks especially w/ my windoor option but it's been just five weeks).

I've seen some posts on here of people finding shoddy work on their shells upon delivery. I'm new to all of this so just wanted to know if there's anything I should be sure to check prior to and/or post installation.

Congratulations. The Snugtop Rebel with windoors was one of the first things I did with my truck and has been one of my favorite additions. My installers had a good reputation and seemed to do quality work. I believe that I shook the canopy back about a 1/4" within a month of install. It didn't look quite right and the seal on the tailgate wasn't making full contact. Loosening the clamp bolts I was able to slide it forward very slightly and now it looks perfect to me. I'd recommend checking the clamp down bolts occasionally while things are settling to ensure things stay snug (I bet they came loose and I drive a fair amount of washboard). You might also check the USB power ports in the back just to make sure they work (mine are flawless but I can see that being an area where shoddy work could show up).

From a product quality standpoint the fabric headliner wasn't fully glued up and I had a small sag that annoyed me. I made a 1/2" cut and used some spray adhesive. No more sag and the small cut isn't visible. The other imperfection was one of the latches for the windoor wasn't fully tightened resulting in a slight wiggle and improper indexing when using the key. When this bothers me I simply hand tighten. One of these days I'll get a wrench on it and solve it for good.

So if I am giving a nitpick review there were a couple issues that were easily corrected. On a big picture review 5 stars would do again with no changes.

I appreciate the thorough response and I'm glad to hear you're so happy with yours. I'm looking forward to the install. We went on a four-day excursion this weekend and and it kinda sucked not being able to leave the truck without a babysitter for fear of thieves going through the stuff in the bed.

I'll keep an eye out for the items you mentioned.

Definitely check the nuts holding it down to the bed, especially if you've been on a rough road. I just bought a 3rd gen that came with a three month old Snug Top Sport.

It's coming off to be sold if anyone is looking for one. It's superwhite, sliding side windows with screens and a fold down cab window.

    Roger that.

Saw someone on here recently say they were out wheeling with theirs, went over a drop that was a little bigger than anticipated and the topper slid forward so hard it shattered the truck's back window. Yikes!
