Little bit of this and that
Hang in there, having loss my best friend of 25 years, a family friend and a grandparent this year I understand the gut punch you're feeling right now. Best advise I can give is allow yourself to grieve, that has helped me greatly in processing and coping with the loss.

I am almost to the point I am afraid to talk to people The way I grew up we always inquired how are your parents doing your siblings it is almost a habit .

So many have passed on I hate remind families to bring back those times.

When your the youngin all your other coworkers are 10 to 20 years older not to many left. Since I was born in 1956

We hang in there do the best we can. It does help to lets things out.

Sorry for the loss my (our) friend. Like others have said, keep your chin up. Grieve.
Also, as my Grandmother told me 3 days before she passed, she told me not to be sad, I don't want you to be sad, but remember the good times.

When I was much younger, pre-teen, I used play checkers with grandma. She would win most of the time and then I got better and was the new checker champ! I remember gloating about it. Lol.
Then when we were older we'd play UNO, and grandma space off and forget to say UNO on her last card, I got such a kick and fond memories of her shouting UNO,UNO, UNO, before anyone noticed and made her draw cards.
And then all the wise things grandma told me, things that were all true but things that come with wisdom or time...all truths in life.

Good story. I once beat my retired air force Colonel grandfather at a game of checkers, he took games very seriously and without a word he looked over the board then got up and left. I was 10 years old lol, didn't know what to do. I think it really bothered him and stuck with him lol, and sadly that's the last game I remember playing with him.

Sorry for your loss Jeff. I’m retired LE, you’re right we deal with so much death we get numb to it, it is just part of the job. When it affects someone you know it hits hard. Hang in there man.

I lost 3 grandparents in the same year, but the one thing that really stuck with me, is that on my grandfather's deathbed, Thanksgiving weekend, our entire family showed up at the hospital. family I hadn't seen in years came together to say their good byes before he went on to be with my grandma. We all ate pizza for thanksgiving in the waiting room. Not many people had planned to show up for it but that year everyone came out.

Back at work today. Going to try and make all 4 days this week. It might be rough, don't think I've worked a full 40 hours the past 3 weeks.
    Good morning :pccoffee:
