Unfortunately your on your own to fabricate a solution. There was a TW member who sold a handful of ubolt flip kit mounts for airbags, but it was only because it lessened the cost of making his. They are no longer offered.

Allpro/Timbren sells a unbolt flip kit that has a nice pad welded to it.

Here are the prints I used to get my bases made - you are welcome to use them if interested. I had simplicity in mind - and our shop water jetted the Daystar discs out of scrap A-36 plate. Bought the All-Pro flip off a fellow who bought it but didn't use it. Use at your own risk - but it is way stronger than the Firestone parts (7/8 thick where their bracket bends)....... U-bolts shortened on the bag side of the bracket and Daystar cup relieved a bit.

I plumbed them to separate Schrader valves on the bumper. They've been on there awhile.

If the cradles are used do you still have to let the air out of the bags if your truck gets lifted by a jack or hoisted up?

    Thanks

Why do you let air out of the bags in these situations?

And to answer the question on the surface, no, your bags will be disconnected from the vehicle on one end. Normal mounting has the bags attached to the vehicle on top and bottom. The cradle eliminates one of those connection points. My bags are frame mounted so i can drop/remove my rear axle entirety without touching the bags.

IDK. I installed the bags along time ago and somewhere along the way I was told or read somewhere that the air had to be removed if you jacked the truck up or if it was put on a lift. I was just trying not to F them up.
Sounds like I had the wrong information.
    Thanks

The air pressure in the bags adds to the force of the axle/ third member/ wheels and tires, etc that are trying to pull the bags apart when the bags are bolted to both ends. The bags can rip. The cradles make this a non-issue.

When reading the instructions the note below was in there. Thats where I got the info.

Also, do you think the Bilstein 5160s and Ride Rite is a good combination?

NOTE: Once the air helper springs are installed, it is recommended that the vehicle not be lifted by the frame, as over-extension may occur, resulting in damage to the air helper springs. However, should it become necessary to raise the vehicle by the frame, deflate both air helper springs completely

That makes sense, over extending the bag could tear them, air in the bag could reduce the droop. I have cradles, so no issue.

I run 5160s, OME XL, with bags. Been doing it now for 4yrs.

That’s cool. I’ll probably bite the bullet and pick up the 5160’s. I already have the 6112’s at #3.
I figured I’ll do all these upgrades on my 11 year old truck. Considering Toyota replaced the frame, break lines, LcA and then some. I bought motor mounts, and had the timing chain gasket replaced.
    Truck still runs great.
    Thanks

It is possible to for the leaf springs to to squeak shortly after the air bags are put on? My rear right side squeaks when I go over certain bumps.. It didnt happen right away, but now with about 40 miles on them it is happening more. Ive yet to check and tighten the bolts again to make sure.

    Thanks

Mine haven’t yet and it’s been 3 years. Bags shouldn’t cause squeaking since they apply pressure at a point where the leaves are fixed to the axle. They basically unload the springs so the leaves have an arc that corresponds to the remaining load. If the leaves squeak now it’s more likely they were about to anyway or the bolts are loose.

I’m not sure what to think. I also added Bilstein 5160s. It didn’t squeak like I said for the first 40 miles. I have to get back in there and tighten up the bolts on everything I touched.

    Thanks

Useful thread. Im considering a set of these airbags paired with the daystar cradles. I just picked up a jayco travel trailer with a Dry Weight of 2960 lbs and a Gross Weight of 3750 lbs. Havent taken it on the road yet, but Ive moved it around my property a bit, and the ass end sags.

My truck: 2018 SR5 4x4 with The Eibach kit (Single AAL with overload spring in place) sag a bit.

Question: Anybody use these Daystar knockoffs found on Amazon for $43? They look exactly the same and are just under half the price. If the quality os the same, Im down to save some $.

I run those. I can't say anything about longevity as I've had them less than a year, but they're stupid simple and work great so far.
