My black sand pearl paint failed on the hood and roof of my 2008. I just picked it up from being repaired/painted. It looks fantastic! The rest of the truck, not so much. Hard water spots everywhere. I wanted to get the paint repair before having the truck detailed. Now I wonder how long to wait before I can?

The front counter guy at the repair place said I can wash, wax and have it detailed now. Frankly, he doesn't give me confidence that he knows what he's talking about. I've found differing opinions on line. Anyone have advice or experience?

Can you check the manufacturer's specs of the paint system they used? Otherwise you're still just online asking for opinions.
