    Hi everyone!

My father instilled a love of Toyota trucks into me since the day I was born. There are a lot of pictures of baby me and his 1980 Toyota Pickup in my parents' photo albums.

Later, he had a 1990 4 Runner that I learned to drive with:

When it came time to buy my first vehicle I had no choice but to get an '89 Toyota Pickup myself:

My second vehicle was one of my all-time favorite vehicles to own and drive, my '98 Tacoma:

It was a sad day when I sold it, but I have been able to enjoy 3 wonderful Audi's since that time. Now, as I have a need and desire to own a second vehicle, I am hoping to purchase a 2022 TRDOR DCSB MT (did I get all of the acronyms right?) within the next year. The idea of finally owning another Tacoma in my life is something that has made me more excited than I have been in a while and I am glad to see such a great community here. I can't wait to be able to share it with all of you.

    Love the pictures.

I think you’ll like the 22’. (And yes, you got all the acronyms correct)

Welcome! I dig the pictures. Very nice. My dad had a 1986 Toyota Pickup Xtra cab, that I loved. I was sad when he got rid of it. Then around 2009 I got a 1986 Toyota Pickup Turbo. I ended up passing it on to my dad a few years later and he loves it, it reminds him of his old truck.

When I went looking for my first car I tried and tried to find my dad's old truck. I never did find it before buying the 89 Pickup, but I did find it a couple of years later (I think. If not it was near identical. I had no VIN to compare.). It was still in pretty good condition, but I never approached the owner about it. It would have been nice to have. My dad said I would have hated it because it had no power and barely could hit 65mph on the freeway, but I still wanted it. I stuck with mine until getting my first Tacoma, however. I can only dream what it would have been like.

I love new more than old, but the nostalgia was strong.

Yeah for sure, nostalgia is why I bought that first Toyota Pickup. I didn't want to get rid of it, so I was glad my dad has kept it. He is constantly asked if he will sell it. He says he never will, hey maybe it will end up back with me down the road.
