    I'm currently looking for a new rifle. I went to a gun store today and the sales guy suggested that calibre. I'm not real familiar with it. For hunting I currently have a 7 mm Rem Mag and a 30-30. Was just wanting something nicer for bigger game.

    My other BIL (not the one in Detroit) :rolleyes:...

    ...has a Model 7 rifle (short action) in 7mm-08.
    It's really light and a pleasure to tote around the woods.
    I wouldn't want to shoot many shots off a bench with it though.
    The 7mm-08 is potent and doesn't get the respect it deserves.

    The cartridge is common enough that you can find factory loads with premium bullets.
