Nope. Reliability was my primary factor in going with the taco. I'm sure those are a blast as well

No dice there. I'm at 14mpg on a good day with all the weight I'm slugging around in full steel skids, front & rear bumpers, winch, etc.

Two tenths slower In the quarter than the TRX (12.9 ET) , but 2mph faster (108mph)

Lol, TRX. It's so big and obnoxiously overpowered that it's not even good at what large pickups are good for, not to mention too big for anything off-road besides dirt roads and desert running. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's tons of fun on the road... for about a week. As a second truck for the unfortunately endowed, sure.

Has anyone seen a TRX with dirt on it yet?

I'm starting to see more and more of them here in SoCal, but much like the raptors, I'm afraid they're just expensive street toys for most...

I know MSRP is like 90k but I've seen them going for like 120k realistically in this market. How many people are really going to thrash their 120k truck around? Like someone said before I'm sure 700hp is fun and all but there's only a couple places where that kind of power can be enjoyed. At that price tag you can build a much more versatile vehicle with more that enough power to realistically enjoy with a far lower price at the pump and I'd imagine a far lower insurance premium.

Not shitting on the TRX, it's an objectively capable production vehicle, which isn't easy to pull off, but it's gonna be a street toy for rich people, and I probably will only ever see one or two of them on the trails, realistically.

They don't fit on most trails worth driving

Shelby America cars are a rip. I'd take a trx or raptor over that in heartbeat.

I saw a 50 something woman driving a TRX, I doubt she was single. I prefer the Power Wagon to the TRX, more usable truck for the money. For the price of a TRX, I think it would make more sense to get a Ram maga cab 3500. Different trucks for different purposes.

Power is a nice feeling and great in a street vehicle.... but from my experience power isn't always better in a 4x4. I had a 1991 Explorer with the 4.0L engine and had a blast in that thing. Then when the engine packed it in I swapped in a 5.0L EFI engine and custom transmission. That thing was an beast and could spin the 32" Superswampers I had on it, at will. The downside was, I found that it was now too much for the wheeling I was doing before. The 4.0L was a better balance. The 5.0L was too much, even in that heavy vehicle.

I will stick with a smaller, more nimble vehicle that has better balance. Just my .02 cents.

I swear if these 3rd gen trucks had that low end torque, so many of these threads would not exist. 270hp is plenty for a mid size, same with the 265 tq number. Just too bad about that high power band.

Ram TRX is nice but I am to poor to off-road a $100k truck. Lsame reason I never had a raptor. Just got a new Tacoma TRD off-road because it was a good deal and small truck fit Colorado trails better

I see where you’re coming from. I recently drove a Chevy Silverado Trail Boss with the 5.8 V8 and getting back into my Tacoma felt like climbing back into a clown car.

Raptor 5.2 L twin turbo is incoming though. FCA isn't making as good power as they should out of the TRX, that engine is tapped out. Wait until we see Fords effort with more displacement.
