Tacoma ignition cylinder

    None that I know of second owner
    Has anybody found a way to remove the ignition cylinder from an 05. There's an oblong hole in the front of the cylinder housing but that doesn't release it

    Thanks a lot for that info. But I find it hard to believe Toyota design engineers would be so stupid to make it a 6-hour job to remove an ignition cylinder. Huck bolts are normally used where I part seldom if ever has to be removed. Until I find another answer I'll have to leave the key in the ignition all the time

    If your refering to the lock cylinder all you have to do is take the steering column covers off, 2 philips screws behind the steering wheel (turn wheel to the side to access), the covers just snap together, turn the key on, push a button, and pull up on a lever. It's like a 30 min job, no special tools required.
