Appreciate it! Mostly wanted to see how good the seal/slip fit was. Will probably check at each destination for any shifting but pretty happy. We’ll see if the snow and ice becomes a problem. At least if it is it means it’s snowing. :)

Well now I need to go make some changes. Adding some big rig smoke stacks. Gonna need a bigger heater.

The Chinese exhaust pipe was used underneath the truck. The new upgraded pipe was used on the top. The high temp silicone was used as an insulator and gasket with some copper fittings from Home Depot.

Make sure to use proper protection when wrapping the pipe with the fiberglass and to soak it in water to get a tight stretch on it. Best to use a tee shirt you can throw away after too.

Insulation and surround fitting nicely. Really pleased with the tin and brass combo. I did a little acid wash with the tin beforehand too. With the new surround up top, I’m hoping to cut a clean hole with out the need of trim plate. Now just have to wait till a couple back to back trips are finished. Lady is taking it this weekend and then we both head out the following for some fall biking.

Mineral wool vertical section with R4 insulation over the door:

That corrugated metal is looking really good and the brass gives it some contrast - also fits really well with the gray interior fabric hue.

Did you use new metal and then acid wash to take off some of the sheen or is is old metal that the acid wash cleaned up some of the age?

It was reclaimed from two different locations. The acid just dissolves the zinc coating to reveal some of the shiny tin underneath. There wasn't much rust on any of them though. If I go back with a hydrogen peroxide solution the rust would appear pretty quickly. My test pieces just didn't get the desired results. The silver with some of the burnt edges seem to pair well. I may rub the black off later or try for some better rust results but in person looks pretty good at the moment.

    Nelsonator,

What's your take on the overall build quality of the Joolca? Don't know how much use you've gotten out of yours but I've seen a few reviews claiming poor hardware quality with long term use (i.e. hose couplings failing, shower heads needing to be replaced constantly, etc.).

FYI to anyone still waiting on their Kimbo (see attached screenshot). Kimbo has decided to part ways with Goal Zero due to supply chain issues. New rigs will all have the Ecoflow river max plus battery and the additional battery for extended cycled life. They also parted ways with the original fridge and are going with a Dometic CD 50 due to the past model failing at high altitudes.

Heres a link to the new generator: https://ecoflow.com/products/ecoflow-river-max-plus-portable-power-station & https://ecoflow.com/products/ecoflow-river-pro-extra-battery

Heres a link to the new fridge: https://www.dometic.com/en-us/professional/truck-solutions/truck-refrigerators/dometic-cd-50-231417

Two months and four days until I pick mine up!

Hopefully Ecoflow has improved their product from last year - Will Prowse was not impressed at all.

This is extremely concerning considering I am receiving the ecoflow models in my Kimbo next year.

Close up of the panels with acid treatment. Some slight rust forming naturally. I may still match the vertical piece with the top piece but may like having two different ones. Brass stands out.

My takeaway from the ecoflow company is that they made significant improvements from one version to another - so hopefully they're continuing to improve the products.

I'm sure Kimbo is looking for the best product available and even with the lackluster review - it does sound better than other solutions on the market, just not perfect.

Ask about getting any custom things put in at the factory that you may want - I wish I would have asked about the Maxxfan option instead of the Fantastic fan due to our needs with snow/rain camping but I didn't know to ask unfortunately.

It would seem you're early enough in the process to ask still.

That's a great move from propane fridges too by the way - never was impressed with them.
