I've had the engine/trans/lca skids on my truck for a while now. I'm a big fan although I haven't had the opportunity to give them a solid beating yet.

    count me in for one

oh boy, that's an old post.

i ended up passing on the aluminum and picked up a set of RCI steel plates (engine, trans, diff) it's well worth picking up a full set regardless if it's steel or alumin since at the end of the day they'll pay themselves off after a few hits. but in regards of daily driving and having protection - you really feel the weight of the steel and it's rough to drive with them year-round.

but show us any results on your tests once you get around to em!

Can you jack the front of the truck up on these aluminum skid plates?

Yes you can lift the front of the truck using the Skid if needed. Always support the truck with jack stands once lifted.

    ooooh nice!

though have a question. any idea if you have any ribs along the inside of the High Clearance plate?
another question, would one be able to adapt this plate to other retailers Like RCI? My Front skid takes a beating but the ones in the back only get marred up so i believe i'd be able to save some weight and adapt the RCI cross member.

It is a fairly short span between the transmission crossmember and new t-case crossmember (only about 7") so we do not add the internal bracing like our Engine and Transmission Skid Plates. The formed side wings do add some rigidity to the mid section of the skid plate.

As for compatibility with other brands- The T-Case Skid Plate mounts to the factory holes in the transmission crossmember at the front similar to others, so it could potentially be installed behind another brand transmission skid plate. Our T-Case Crossmember and Skid Plate are designed to fit together, and would not be interchangeable as separate pieces, if that makes sense.

Do you know if your skid plates fit with Marlin crawler HD LCA frame brace kit?

Do you have installation instructions for your 2nd gen. engine and trans skid set?

The Transmission Skid Plate offers some protection over stock, but not completely theft proof. We've got a Cat Protection Kit in the works, that will be an add-on to our existing Transmission Skid Plates.
