Damn how big is your shower that you can get a Tacoma in there? I mean obviously not big enough to get it in without rubbing, but still that's got to be a pretty big shower.

He has the 4runner pro wheels, they are no where close to the uca even with that size tire. I run the same set up and it no where close. The alignment will fix it.

The length of the strut does not change when you go up a notch. It puts more preload on the spring there in turn creating lift and a stiffer ride the taller you go in the notch setting. Your basically compressing the spring to get the truck to ride higher in the travel. The taller you go the more the spring is compresses and stiffer the ride will be. TONS of members have noted a much stiffer ride when lifting with 5100s and oem springs including myself.

There is preload on the spring but that makes no difference to the spring height with vehicle load on it. The spring will still only compress a set amount based on the weight of the vehicle. The height difference comes from pushing the shock body down by raising the lower spring perch. This lowers the lower shock mount down, pushing the lower control arm down and raising the vehicle resting height as a result. Or as I explained exposing more of the shaft. The stiffer ride comes from an imbalance of spring travel. Before lifting the spring could compress and rebound more or less evenly. After the lift it compresses more there by increasing firmness in the ride. This is simple physics. The only way to solve this is to lower the pivots points of the suspension equally with the centre line of the wheel.

You stated it does NOT effect ride quality but it does.

Making any changes to the balance of the suspension changes the 'quality' of the ride either negatively or positively. The farther out of balance the more negative the 'quality'. Quality is very subjective though.
