Do you think a Tacoma TRD OR could tow and stop this?

Does anyone have experience with a setup like this? I really like it for a camping trailer but do not know the weight or what running gear is under it.

Nice setup to bring your kayaks etc. Looks like under 1000 empty to me, but it is a WAG (wide ass guess). Find out a weigh station, my local dump has one.

    Yes no problem

Single axle it can't weigh all that much. You should be fine. I agree with @trucknh, probably about 1,000 lbs empty.

Get it weighed at a truck stop if you want to know for sure.

That's a backhalfed work truck, isn't it. The rim looks familiar... I would think that could push 2,000lbs empty with the heavy frame rails and rear diff. I would definitely take it to a scale and get a weight of that thing. Either way you should be able to tow it easily enough.

I pull a 20’ tandem axle with two sxs on it all over. Also pull my tractor on it a few times a year. Trailer does have brakes which helps.

Pretty hefty rig I could see a need for brakes if you use it for what it was intended for.

    Don't guess at the weight.

Just go to a landfill or a CAT scale to weigh it. Done.

The real question everyone should ask is, 4cyl or V6? Also tongue weight vs total weight.

If V6 you're almost certainly fine unless you fill it with concrete. If 4cyl please weigh the trailer once loaded with the gear you want and don't climb any mountains.

V6 doesn't make the brakes work better. The transmission has gears to allow for torque multiplication in several different amounts to make pulling uphill possible with even the 4cyl!

If you don’t know the answer to this you need to take a towing class and learn the basics of that tiny trailer

As @Speedfreak mentioned, that looks like a home build back 1/2 of a truck. Assuming that’s the case and it’s using the truck frame. That’s not light even though it’s small. Also looking at the design and how much frame there is in front of the axle, I’d guess that unloaded your going to max out the tongue of the Tacoma (probably even a 1/2 ton truck) for that matter, and there is no way to load that trailer without adding a shit load more tongue weight. It quite frankly looks like a badly designed home build.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I think you could do much better with something set up for camping.

Would you pull something like this 500 miles to camp or just a few miles from home?

If this trailer is indeed built on a Truck Frame adding trailer brakes would be really interesting.

Surge brakes might be easier then you don`t have the option of manual control
