I got online to order the Toyota short he’d mat. I already had the links to purchase bookmarked. But when I went to the page it said it was no longer available? Have they stopped making these? I’ve searched all over the web and can’t find one now. I did see it listed on Amazon but it’s $125. From the dealer sites the mat was selling for only $80 and free shipping.

Anyone know if these are gone for good or just temporarily out of inventory?

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Most in the US do not realize the situation our global supply chain is in. We import almost everything and our ports and trucking infrastructure is in complete disarray. I suspect they are simply out of stock. It is going to be funny to see people completely unable to comprehend why no one has anything on the shelves for Christmas.

Doubt if the short bed mat has been discontinued. Toyota builds more short bed trucks than long. Current supplies could be temporary depleted. Toyota might be focusing on new Tundra bed mats, given the new Tundra also has a composite bed.

That’s crazy! I literally checked like 10 Toyota dealer sites yesterday and all said the same thing. “Item no longer available” The only thing that sucks is the site you mentioned doesn’t offer free shipping, so it’s an additional $63 for shipping. I just checked it. But I’m going to keep checking because maybe they will offer free shipping at some point soon. Thanks for sharing that site.

A couple of the other links I see show the part unavailable, but there are plenty of dealership sites with stock. They all add a shipping fee though. A month or so ago someone posted a dealer link with short bed mats for $80, free shipping, but that seems to be gone.

I’m sure you’ll be able to find one somewhere under $100 including shipping. You could even order through your local dealer if they’re near by.

I expect the blue flippin million we all ordered on the discount thread wiped the stock out.

I doubt very seriously that the short bed mat has been discontinued as it's probably one of the highest sales volume components in the Toyota line.
I'm in commercial construction and we are seeing long lead times, shortages and backorders on practically every component/materials that we use.

Yeah that’s a good point. I will give my local dealer a call tomorrow. Very possible that they could get it, so I don’t have to pay the high shipping cost.

Yeah I’m in construction as well. And it for sure has been crazy how many items are out of stock or back ordered or just take forever to receive. Very good possibility that is what is going on with the bed mat as well.

Haha isn’t that the truth tho. I think the bed mat is one of the first mods most people do after getting a tacoma.

On a positive note maybe over the next year I won’t buy a bunch of stuff I don’t need…

Not possible. We have Tacomas. It's a disease for which there is no cure :spending:

Last night I was up way too late as usual and bought this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08M41FX48?ie=UTF8
I justified it by convincing myself this would be a logical addition to the emergency kit in my truck because it's easier than jumper cables, which I already carry. It never ends

Have you tried calling your local Toyota dealer's parts department and asking if they have any in stock?

Might be MSRP ($115? iirc?) not $80. But what's an extra $40 on a $40k truck?

Amen to that! I quit buying shit I don't need and refuse to take on any substantial home improvement projects. It's unfortunate that Amazon and the like has conditioned an entire generation to expect same day / next day satisfaction. I remember back in the 70's filling out a mail order form, dropping it in the mailbox and then waiting weeks for your stuff to show up.

And the worst is yet to come. When there are lines out the door at the local grocery store and food rationing, maybe folks will start waking up.

I have found the online retailers are indicating "no longer available" for parts that are on backorder. As noted above, there is a serious supply chain breakdown right now and they are not truly "no longer available" or discontinued. There is just no ETA for when they will be back in stock.

Maybe as Amazon consistently morphs into aliexpress v2 with the influx of overseas crap products we will see some usage dwindle. I used to be fine with Amazon gift cards as gifts and have had prime membership since college. Now I tell people anything but, cause the product selection has become trash.

I doubt we will see this change though. Yesterdays better quality, proper QC’ed item “A”, becomes tomorrows inferior quality XingShao/ciiibee ultra/SHUJIN42 branded item. I made all those dumbass names up but that’s what Amazon products look like now.

Yeah, those places are more prevalent than most folks think and people with lots of money have been snapping them up. I have a remote mountain cabin that is my designated bugout destination. Assuming I can get there (it's about an hour north of where I live), then it is well stocked and easily defended. I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I really do think rough times are coming and societal norms like law and order are going to disappear faster than a pan of brownies at a pot party.
