I’ve had a good week off, and have knocked out several things that needed to get done.

Good morning friends. Mowing is on the list today. Also have to get over to Mom’s house to do a few things - light the propane pilot for the parlor stove and close the ceiling registers on the AC. I’m helping my sister clear out her house - she’s sold it and is moving to be near her kids in SoCal. My basement is filling up. Anyone want a Denon home theater receiver and Definitive Technologies speakers? Just come and get them. Receiver still has the labels on it.

Looks like rain today.
Garage clean up today. This winter's supply of wood pellets being delivered tomorrow. New deck is almost done. Just have close up the north and west sides.

Good morning everybody. Another rainy day on tap and forecast through Wednesday. The grass is NOT getting mowed before I leave.

If you were a tiny bit closer, I'd be all over that.

Rain starting tomorrow and through most of the week. I gotta finish breakfast and get some cutter seems re-caulked, tired of the deck getting a constant waterfall on it in 2 spots.

I guess the boss is out of cell service?

And for those of you who fly fish I’m going to give my thoughts on the river quiver. I put my old rod in when I left home went the long way to Damascus VA because I had to meet transport in Wytheville VA some dirt road riding fishing and back home the shorter route through Boone NC 443 miles. Had a little place on the cork but could be dirty hands and first eyelet mite be slightly abraded but I’m tickled with it. Changing spots on the stream was worry free. You don’t have to worry about windows rolling up and snapping a tip-off because you touch a button. But I will probably still put mine together in the morning and break it down in the evening unless I’m camping. And I will run a rag through it to clean the bore it might have dust in there it is second hand after all.
Just looked it’s definitely got some dust in it.

 

Thanks for the review, always wanted one, just can’t justify the money. You got a deal buying used.

 

Here’s a photo of a treasure that was brought from my sister’s house.

The jack knife was my BIL’s that passed last year from f’n COVID. He was an Eagle Scout.

The knife was his older brother’s that dies in the early 70’s on his way back from ‘Nam. The sheath has his name, Tr 31 ‘66.

I’ll hold onto them and send them to my Nephew (actually My niece’s son) in a few years when he gets a bit older. The knife may have to be smuggled into CA…

I can't believe how hard it rains here in Tennessee !!! , We've had some strong T storms roll thru since about 1030hrs . One T storm was so strong it was heavy torrential rain for over 45 minutes . So much different than the rain storms in Hawaii or the High Desert
