2011 4.0 4x4 taco. Terrible mpg's. bought it used with 54k. 16.5-17 mpg's highway. So over a period of time I did the following. Left the lift kit in and put stock size tires and took out the spacers. Nothing same crappy mileage. Installed E3 plugs, still crappy mileage. So heres where it gets better. I installed a set of JBA headers carb compliant. Low end torque sank like a stone, but it ran/ breathed much quieter. Then I added an AFE carb compliant throttle body spacer, and that woke this thing up. As advertised it gave 14 lbs of torque and 12 hp. Still mpg's on the highway around 18.5. Then I added a jetchips MAF sensor and disconnected the battery ecu fuse etc. over the next week of driving noticed dramatic improvements esp in mpgs. Currently getting 21 mpg range in stop n go freeway traffic at speeds above 70. However the obd keeps throwing a p101 code "MAF". Typically within ten minutes of driving with no codes at all during warm up... if I clear the code while driving it stays off until I shut the truck off and restart after it cools. Any ideas on how to program the ecu. Jetchips says the headers and spacer shouldn't have anything to do with the trouble code. All aftermarket parts are California CARB compliant

P0101 means the MAF is out of the range the PCM expects it to be for the conditions, with all the aftermarket stuff you have added your probably gona have to put a tune in the ECU to get it to run correctly.
HpTuners and OV/VF Tune are the most popular on here, there's alot thread's about both of them in the Performance & Tuning Section.
